“Another run. What a pathetic little joke.”
A psychological horror roguelike set inside a warehouse worker’s mind.
Descend eleven floors of a man’s life: the job, the commute, the house, and the rooms he never reopened.
Dario works in a warehouse. One evening something in him gives way, and the building he has walked through every day for years turns into the inside of his own head.
The enemies are people he used to work with. The boss waiting on each floor is someone who had power over him. A voice follows him down and never stops talking — it knows every excuse he has ever made, and it has time.
Currency is pills. Spending them makes Dario stronger and takes something off his mind, and the state of his mind at the end decides which of the two endings you get. Nineteen weapons fuse into a hundred and seventy-one combinations, and the game never tells you which fusion is an upgrade and which one you will spend the rest of the run regretting.
Each floor is a period of Dario’s life, with its own rooms, its own enemies and its own boss. The deeper you go, the less the building behaves like a building.
Pills buy upgrades and cost sanity. There is no bar telling you how much is left. What you spent is what decides your ending.
Drop one weapon onto another and get a third. Nineteen bases, a hundred and seventy-one pairs, signature ones with their own names and hand-drawn sprites. A few are traps, and nothing warns you.
Him. Every line written and performed by the developer, in Italian, subtitled in English. He is not narrating. He is arguing with you.

The wordmark is bone and rust on black. If you need it on a light background, use the transparent PNG over a dark plate rather than inverting it — the letters are painted skin, and they disappear on white.
UNDERSKIN is built by one person. Valentino manages a shop that sells glasses; the game gets made at night and on days off. He designed it, wrote it, built its engine himself, and recorded every line the voice says. He is Italian, the voice acting is Italian, and the warehouse in the game is the kind of warehouse he has actually worked in. None of that is set dressing.
Every character in the game starts as an ink drawing, on paper, by hand. Dario, Sartori the shift supervisor, Perri, the Whisper: Francesco draws them first, and the sprites are built from those drawings. He is a friend of the developer, not a studio, and the drawings are the reason the people in this game look the way they do.

In September 2026 the game’s 663 sprites went out to a hired pixel artist. Valentino wrote publicly about what that costs a solo developer and what the quotes actually looked like.
Video and streaming. You may record, stream and monetise footage of UNDERSKIN, including the demo, on any platform. No permission needed, no revenue share, no takedowns. Coverage is welcome for the whole life of the game.
Images. The material on this page is here so you can write about UNDERSKIN: articles, videos, thumbnails, posts. Use it for that freely. It stays the property of Valentino Arceri, so please keep the logo legible, don’t recolour or redraw it, and don’t put the artwork on merchandise, resell it, use it in another project, or feed it to a model. Anything outside coverage of the game, just ask first — the answer is usually yes.
